Hello,

I have a new DB server which is Windows Server 2008 R2 EE 64-bit, and my current database is Oracle 10.2.0.4 64-bit EE on the old Windows Server 2008. By checking certification matrix, only 10.2.0.5 64-bit EE is certified on Windows Server 2008 R2. So what is the best way to migrate my current databse to the new server?

1. Is it possible I install a Oracle 10.2.0.5 EE 64-bit on Windows Server 2008 R2 EE 64-bit new DB server and make the compatible =10.2.0.4? if this way, do I need any DB upgrade after install software and do a phsical recovery from backup of old 10.2.0.4 DB?

2.I think our application is certified to oracle 10.2.0.5, so if upgrade Oracle to 10.2.0.5 on new server and make the compatible parameter=10.2.0.5, do I need any DB upgrade after doing phiscal recover from backup of old DB?

Howdy, Stranger!
