OVI Plug-In - What am I missing?

We have 12c R4 EM running with the 'Oracle Virtualization' and 'Oracle Virtual Infrastructure' plug-ins running.

According to the OVI plug-in description 'Enables direct monitoring of Oracle VM environments without requiring the Oracle VM Manager to be deployed'

However, the only way I have been able to monitor any VM host or guest is via the Virtualization plug-in after I connect to a running VM Manager.

I also haven't been able to find any documentation on the Virtual Infrastructure plug-in (other than the little bit shown in the Cloud Admin guide)

I was hoping this would allow me to do away with the OVM manager altogether and use only EM...
