Upgrading from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.4 on Windows x64 - More Details Anywhere?

The patch upgrade has reduced me feeling I'm not in the right field, even after some years of experience...

1)

In step 2 of document id Doc ID 1276368.1 it says

"After installing the latest 11.2 RDBMS  software, start the 11.2.0.1 instance with the previous ORACLE_HOME and spool/run 11.2.0.2 $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlu112i.sql script against the running, previous instance."

My question: I'm assuming i should log into my two databases (11.2.0.1) and run the utlu112i.sql script? (and what to look for to see if it's succesful? I guess I will find out)

How to spool/run both instances against each other? It's basic question.. but feel nothing is clear. An instance is loaded for a database. I want to perform an out of space upgrade.

Howdy, Stranger!
