Change Confirmation in custom interactive app - Enable/Disable OK

We have a custom interactive app which has a headerless detail form in which the users puts information and on save continues to a header detail form with some of the information from the first form contained on the second form.  Specifically changes to a description for a record on the first form is carried over to a record on the second form.  The change is made with the event rules when loading the second form and not typed in by the user so the OK key is not activated.  I have tried every event rule on the header detail
