Subscription Contracts - How to update a contract line item, on mass

We have a lot of subscription contracts loaded where the subscription item has now become invalid due to it not being available. 

We need to update all of our contracts with this line item and replace it with a new item code.

I have looked at mass edit but it does not have 'item' as an option, reloading the line/contract is not a particularly viable option for us due to the volume of contracts.

Is there a way to do this ?
