MRP Net Change Question

We are currently running R483 in Gross Regeneration mode and planning to use the Net Change Mode.  As per Doc ID 1558269.1; for any Sales Order or Purchase order updates, the system only updates the net change flag of the affected items.

From a planning standpoint would MRP only plan for the affected item?  Or would it plan for the parent item as well?   Our items are setup as Matrix items and it is important that MRP re-plans for the parent and the children items (Not just the affected item).

I would really appreciate if anyone can share their experience running MRP in Net Change Mode.  We are planning to run Gross Regeneration on weekends and Net Change on week days.
