Can i kill ans restart auto optimizer stats collection scheduler job?

HI

Please let me know if i can kill the auto optimizer stats collection job. I am getting huge library cache mutex wait on that job. I need to know what all steps i need to perform to stop and renable it to run normally.

Database is 11.2.0.3
