Question on PIM Upgrade from R11 to R12

I have a customer who has recently upgraded from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3

They have observed that any items that were created in R11 do not display the "Long Description" while all items created on the R12 version show the "Long Description" as expected.

Has anyone else observed this?
