Material Consumed - Not Defined in Formula

Hi,

We got an issue, that is related to material consumption in a batch. Let me explain with an example, we created a batch for product 'A' and consumed material ''Z' but the material 'Z' was not defined in formula (defined for product 'A'). On further investigation we identified that material cost is also allocated.

Please confirm, is it normal behavior?  If yes, then how can we restrict it?
