Set ingredients on a batch so they they don't contribute to the product cost?

I have ingredients on a batch that I don't want to contribute to the cost of the product.  I still want to inventory and value the ingredients, I just don't want to include the cost in the cost of the product.  In essence, I would like to expense the ingredients as they're released to the batch.  Is this possible?
