ORA-03113 when starting new instance after node addition

Hi all,

I hope some one can point me in the right direction


After adding a new 3rd node to an existing cluster, any attempt to start the new instance result in an ORA-03113 error. DBCA first reported it when creating the instance too.

As this is on Windows Server (I know, I know) the OracleService<instance3> is started, which puts the instance in an idle state.

When you try to execute startup (either with mount or nomount) you get the error.


C:\Windows\system32>set ORACLE_SID=NODE3

C:\Windows\system32>sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL*Plus: Release 12.1.0.1.0 Production on Fri May 22 15:40:36 2015
