passing record groups to a report

We're upgrading an older forms/reports 6i application to fusion middleware forms/reports 11g.

Our existing forms would pull data from the form into a record group and pass the record group to the report (Run_Product).  We're finding now that it doesn't appear we can still do that in 11g.

Anyone got a definitive answer in that regard?
