Modifying a workbook using its XML files within RPAS Configuration?

HI all-

I have a a list of 400 measures to be added into a workbook (different versions example WP, AP, AA etc) which makes it 1200 technically.

Is it ok to add these measures in the XML files of the workbook (In the Workbooks folder) of the RPAS configuration instead dragging and dropping? Will it impact while I am trying to patch?
