Bigger Trail file size will make replication latency slow?

Need to know, what's impact having bigger trail size in the replication?

Will it slow down the replication? Will pump process wait until the trail file size is full? What happens low traffic situation?

We have configured 50mb trail file size , network bandwidth is 5mbps is good enough?.

Kindly advise
