Way back when I started learning apps, a consultant said apps needs less memory than a normal database becasue it is trying to cache a gazillion objects. However, monitoring always shows more than a few undersized SGA notifications in the ADDM reports. What's the prevailing thought about allocating memory for Apps? We currently have the SGA set to 32G on PROD. Would upping the memory on PROD to say 8 to 16G more or is this bad SOP for apps. Usually the undersized SGA says it wants 44 to 56G on average.

Howdy, Stranger!
