Hardware Management Pack 2.3.1

Hello,

We have an Oracle X4270 server, with Solaris 10 for x86 and Oracle Hardware Management Pack.

We would like to use the Hardware Management Agent (hwmgmtd 2.3.1 daemon) to trigger HW Alarms via SNMP.

The Oracle Server Management Agents User's Guide (August 2014) states the following:

“In previous versions of Hardware Management Pack (before version 2.3.0.0), the agent read the service processor's System Event Log (SEL) records, logged new events to syslog and generated SNMP traps using the host SNMP daemon. As of version 2.3.0.0, the Hardware Management Agent no longer performs this function.”


From the above statement it is unclear which function has been removed (syslog logging? SNMP traps? Both ?)
