Warranty Creation Based on Specific Criteria

Our client does not want to maintain warranties as part of BOM definition. Their current functionality is to have warranties created based on 4 level hierarchy as described below (The configuration drives the warranty item that should be used). I do not see any OOB functionality that can suffice this requirement. I foresee a custom program that would ideally create the warranties after shipment based on this hierarchy. Please provide your experience around this.
