Shipping Costs without PJM

Hi,

We have a requirement to track labor and material costs per project for mfg. prototype items. We don't have project billing / project mfg. We have only project costing. The project is defined in one OU (headqtr OU) and is to be cross charged in other Mfg OUs. We shall ship the prototype item the the end customers and would want to track the costs into projects without enabling PJM. Please advise how can we achieve this? Any solution ideas?

I know we cannot enter the project/task on the sales order without enabling PJM. We can capture the project/task in order line DFFs, however how do we pass the transaction costs (picking/shipping) to projects? I know we can use Misc.transactions (receipt/issue) to relieve inventory to projects without enabling PJM. But we need this for the complete process. The client doesn't want to enable PJM, nor do they want to define a separate inventory org for it.
