W line type and SO quantity

Hi - We use SO W line type to trigger our work orders . Our process is :

1.     Once we get client PO , we initiate a SO W line , which in turn creates a WO.
e.g. SO line qty 10000 , WO line qty : 10000

2. Shopfloor completes work order , but can 9800 is completed to inventory and work order has closed , which leaves a demand of 200 .

3 MRP runs and asks to order the extra 200.

4. Unless our customer service goes into the SO and reduces the quantity to 9800 , the system will asks to make more to meet this demand.

Is there a way , this extra step of updating the SO can be avoided so that the system does not ask to make 200 more. With the number of products we manufacture , this steps takes a lot of time communicating back and forth between our customer service and shopflor teams and does not seem to be very value added.

Howdy, Stranger!
