JD Edwards World Web Enablement A9.3 - Deployment option 3

What are the requirement for installing web enablement for Deployment option 3 for JD Edwards World?  We will not be using any browser and will install the client similar to the old World Vision.  Does this method require Java? If so, which version is needed?
