FA - Asset Split. After a split why does deprec get calulcated on NBV subtrating split value again

Original Asset = $20 Building

Split:   $15 for Building and $5 for Land

Transfer Land to non-depericating class

Why is system calculating the deprecation formula inaccurately taking the $15 for building and reducing it by another $5 for the land again thus figuring NBV at $10 as opposed to $15?
