Missing Receipt Numbers - Year End Close out

We are preparing for EOY and when checking receipt numbers we noticed on 3/3/15 receipt numbers skipped from 67909 to 67918. I can't find anything to explain this and I know that our auditors will need an explanation. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could happen? Thanks!
