Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. ODA on X5-2 now (10/2015) shipping with 8TB SAS2 HDDs. X5-2 uses ACFS which impacts RDBMS Choices

ODA X5-2 is now shipping with 8TB sized disks!
12.1.2.4 includes a fix for Known ASM ALERT for disks 2T and higher
11.2.0.3.15 is NOW SUPPORTED on ODA with 12.1.2.4

The X5-2 uses sixteen 4 TB SAS2 HDDs as the main storage

Due to ASM limitations you cannot use the full 4 TB sized disks for ASM directly.
X5-2 ODA exclusively uses ACFS which sits on top of ASM

Important point: ACFS on ODA is currently supported on 11.2.0.4 and higher.

This means that unlike ODA HW platforms X4-2, X3-2 and V1 where

you could create any previously available RDBMS version
