Suspend Depreciation for Assets

We have a requirement where the client wants to suspend the Depreciation for an Asset. The system should not catch up with the depreciation amount and life should be extended based on the duration assets was idle. We need the system to calculate the Depreciation considering the idle period, and ensure a consistent calculation based on the original setup.

For eg.

Lets consider a $100,000 asset being depreciated over 5 years, and it will be suspended for the first 6 months of 2000. The depreciation for the asset will be $2000, but in year 2000 it should only consider $1000(since its suspended for 6 months).

A 5 year life would have finished at the end of 2005, but considering the idle periods the life has to be extended from 60 months to 66 months.
