WebADI Custom Error Messages

I would like to customize the error messages that are displayed on the spreadsheet when trying to upload a journal through WebADI. I am on Oracle 12.0.6. Where can custom validations and the corresponding error messages be created so that they will be called on when attempting to upload a journal?
