Can't call a contact with extension divider #

Dear,

We are using a synchronization tool to sync contact data between CRM and Outlook.

The extension divider is a # this symbol (automatically generated by Oracle) is synced to Outlook.

Outlook is syncing the contact phone numbers to my mobile phone also using the #

The problem now is that I can't call the contact anymore.

Does anyone has the same issue and how can I solve this?
