Can we have an item tracked in Oracle Inventory as well as Oracle Fixed Asset Module?

We have a situation here , wherein we need to the ability to track the item in Oracle Inventory as well as Oracle Fixed Assets.

Business situation is as follows

client buys an item, configures it and installs it at customer premises and maintains the item through its lifecyle.

We understand that if we use, Oracle Inventory with Oracle Asset Tracking, Installed Based and Fixed Asset modules, we should be able to accomplish the above process.

However, our client has only the following modules and is not interested in licensing new modules

Oracle Purchasing,

Oracle Inventory,

Oracle Projects

Oracle Fixed Assets
