KERNEL crach of Leap Second?

Is RHEL 6's kernel(2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64) free for KERNEL crach of Leap Second?

I think the kernel crash can occur on only RHEL4, 5.

on RHEL 6, only the system can hang.

Am I right?
