What is the F4115, Item History File, used for?

Trying to determine the units produced for an item per period for a date range and was wondering if the F4115 would give me enough information. The description for the F4115 indicates it contains the Item History but can't understand if it is for units issued or units produced. Any guidance would be appreciated.
