3103: Attribute 'DOCUMENT_ID' does not exist for item 'POREQCHA

When the business user submitted requisition - it was approved.  Then they realized the Supplier was incorrect, so they tried to cancel the requisition causing this error:

3103: Attribute 'DOCUMENT_ID' does not exist for item 'POREQCHA.  Because the Supplier is incorrect what is the Best Practice to clear this item from WF and cancel it in the system?
