Installing boot block on a mirror

I have not been able to install the boot block on a ZFS root mirror running on a Solaris 10 T4.  The installboot  command for the mirror finishes okay when booted from the boot disk, but doesn't make the mirror bootable.  I have not been able to mount the ZFS root pool when booted from the cdrom.  Must the T4 be booted from from the cdrom to install the boot block on the root mirror?
