Future Customer Pricing

Our company operates in the Healthcare space and future pricing contracts are negotiated regularly.  Currently, we wait until the day the new contract starts to end date the old price line in the customer pricing list and add a new line for the new contract price.  Our pricing team has asked if we can future date pricing on items.  For example, for item 001, if we know the price is changing on July 1 to $10 and its $5 now, can they end date the $5 line with June 30 and add the new line with a start date of
