Can we run a SQL query in Befimport script in FDMEE?

Hi

Can anyone tell if we can run the SQL query in Befimport script? I have to import data in FDMEE from external SQL database. I am using OPEN Interface table and Befimport Event script to get connected to the source SQL database. I am trying to use below SQL query in EVNT script and getting errors. The same query is running fine and resulting expected output when i run through SQL sever management studio.
