different JDK version than JRE

Can you have different versions JAVA 7 for development JAVA 8 for running FORMS/REPORTS on the same work-station or server?

Our work-station are WIN7-64bit and our servers are Windows 2008 R2.

Using WebLogic 10.3.6.0 and Forms/Reports 11.1.2.2
