Can Essbase 11.1.2.1 be reconfigured for Shared Services

We have Essbase v11.1.2.1 installed with shared services.  Is it possible to reconfigure Essbase to run just with the Essbase servers and not shared services? 

My understnding is that it was an option when Essbase was initially installed but not sure if possible to reconfigure without a complete reinstall.

For versions after 11.1.2.1 is it even an option to install without shared services? 

Our Shared Services Oracle database is being upgraded soon from 11g to 12c which is not certified with 11.1.2.1.

We are looking at options to be able to stay short term at v11.1.2.1.

If Shared Servics is deployed with Oracle can it be redeployed with a different db ex DB2 or Sql Server?
