Inventory Transfers and Reclassifications

Hi
We've got a client who requires both Inventory Transfers and Reclassifications during the normal day to day running of their business.  They have Purocurement but not Sales Order Processing.

Reclassifications are used to transfer stock froma  main spares branch/plant  to an issuing branch/plant (there are currently 4 of these) and they need to have a lot/serial number added at this point.

We also use Inventory Transfers to move stock from the spres warehouse to a second warehouse (and neither of these have lot/serial numbers).. They use weighted average costing throughout.

The question is should we encourage the use of an additional document type for reclassifications as currently both are IT doc types, and presumambly use the same DMAIIs - has anyone done this or know what the implications of this are.
