Oracle recommends removing all hidden parameters prior to upgrading

As part of running the utlu112i_5.sql script it states that 'Oracle recommends removing all hidden parameters prior to upgrading'.  I am upgrading our 10.2.0.3 database to 11.2.0.3 and it has the "_awr_flush_threshold_metrics=TRUE" underscore parameter set.  How do I remove it and do I need to put it back.  Thanks in advance
