Using ADB without initially implementing it.

Hello,  We have been operational for several months and now realize that we should have enabled ADB.  I have two questions because at this time, it's not feasible to implement a brand new Primary Ledger:

1) Can ADB be enabled for a Secondary Ledger only, since I know I can't update this option on the Primary Ledger?

2) If the above can't work, does anyone now of a workaround to report on the daily balances, which I could then download to Excel and perform my daily balance calculations?
