Upgrade from R11 to R12 - How to automatically default Tax Classificaiton Code based on SHIPTO Locat

  The client upgraded from R11 to R12.

 

1. In R11, Tax codes are created in AP and these tax codes were assigned to the Locations. (which are client ship to locations). In R12, Locations are brought over with the tax codes (as they were in R11). But the tax codes window in AP module does not exist anymore. These tax codes are now Tax classification code (ZX_INPUT_CLASSIFICATIONS lookup type) in EBtax module.

 

2.      Client want EBTax to calculate tax automatically based on the tax codes on location window. Client does not want to create different geographies for state, counties and cities AND different taxes like State, City or County- as it will mean multiple tax lines on a PO or an AP invoice. They want to have ONE tax line and ONE tax rate based on Location. (just like in R11)
