Anti-virus on JDE Servers

We are having a discussion on installing anti-virus software on our JDE servers. We are a pretty good size Windows shop running in Europe, N. America, and Asia. We have multiple web, app, and DB servers. The current consensus is that running anti-virus would slow things down and generally be bad for performance.
