Hyperion Planning Fiscal Start Month

Hi,

We are on Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 and we are planning a calendar change from Jan - Dec to Oct -Sep.

I would appreciate some advice on the consequences of not changing the 'Fiscal Start Month' that you define when creating the application.  What functionality does this setting drive?  What happens in planning when

Also is the only way to change this is to recreate the application.
