upgrade my standalone discoverer 10.1.2 while upgrade to REl 12

Hi we are in apps 11.5.10.2 .  We also have standalone discoverer 10.1.2 too.  We are planning to upgrade 11.5.10.2 to Rel 12.1.  As far as I understand, discoverere 10.1.2 is certified with Rel 12.1. 

my questions

1) do I still have to "do something" or apply patch for discoverer during our apps upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1?

2) How can I find out my discoverer version?
