Inventory Item deletion - can new item be created with same code combination?

We created six items with incorrect UOM.

We could simply make them inactive and create new items. But new items will have different codes. We need to re-use the same codes as they follow a convention.

Is it possible to reuse the same code combination after an item is deleted?

Our item code structure is like this: 10-10004005-01-000-000
