UPGRADE FROM R11 TO R12.2.4

Dear Guru's

One of our client have requirement to upgrade from r11 to r12.2.4. can anyone assist/suggest what is the best way in order to make upgrade straight forward and successful (in terms of data migration/cleansing and new features), do anyone have knowldge kindly share your experience.
