Is install base conversion required for a new Operating Unit to an existing Org Structure ?

The client is planning on rolling out Oracle to one of it's subsidiaries (Singapore). Currently all the SG transactions (Sales Order, Service Contracts) are being performed in US OU.

SG will be created as a New Sales Operating Unit in the system with no warehouse. The shipping warehouse will be OU warehouse and an intercompany transaction will be created.

We require the following information:

1. Does Install Base have dependencies with Operating Unit ?

2. Can Service Contract be created in the SG Operating Unit for the item sold earlier from US Operating Unit ?

3. Will any other Oracle modules using SG OU have issues in accessing Install Base data for the item sold from US Operating Unit ?
