Oracle DB Restore from an old backup

edited Sep 2, 2015 10:09AM in Database Backup and Recovery (MOSC) 10 commentsAnswered

I want to restore my db back to a previous date.I've followed procedures to restore the control file and then when I restore database it just uses the latest backup.

I backup daily and keep one copy, the others get moved to tape before they get purged.

I can restore the backupset and autobackup directories from the previous date back to disk.

Do I restore the control file, then database  from a specific location? How?

Do I need to catalog the older backups?

Howdy, Stranger!
