Rebuildable vs. Capital Asset

Hi,

We are currently implementing Oracle EAM for electrical distribution company.

The assets on network, like transformers, circuit breaker, switch gear are also inventory items.

The requirement is to track the life cycle of the asset from purchasing to decommissioning.

The transformers are seems like best candidate for rebuildable.If there is a failure the transformer is removed from the network and overhaul process is tracked separately.

For the rest of the inventory items we do not have any overhaul and re-use process;

1. Do we need to create rebuildable asset even they are serial controlled inventory items to met the requirement?

Howdy, Stranger!
