Why does luupgrade strip out SUNW* packages from Solaris 10?

Goal: to migrate a ZFS root file system Solaris 10 OS image (since ldmp2v cannot do it) from an M5000 domain to a T5-2 guest domain.

Synopsis: 2nd luupgrade in process below removes SUNW* packages from Solaris 10 Flash Archive. Why?

Process:

mkdir /p2v

mount dc3ps3215:/backup_rootvg/p2v /p2v

mkdir /iso_unbundled

lofiadm -a /p2v/sol-10-u11-ga-sparc-dvd.iso

mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/lofi/1 /iso_unbundled

lucreate -C - -n sol10_u11_p2v -p rpool

Solve the root on ZFS issue here:

luupgrade -f -n sol10_u11_p2v -s /iso_unbundled -a /p2v/flars/<source_hostname>.flar

Howdy, Stranger!
