Essbase Cube from 11.1.2.1.600 to 11.1.2.3.500

Hello,

We have existing app and essbase server running on 11.1.2.1.600. I am applying maintenance release 11.1.2.3.500. I know I don't need to re-create the essbase cube but I would like to bring the Production Essbase Cube to the development (which is running 11.1.2.3.500). Is this export/import will work with different environment? What's best practice in this kind of scenario?
