Actual Cost Process taking time in R12

Hi All,

EBS 12.1.3 , DB 11.2.0.2

I have seen that our OPM consultant  running Actual Cost Process many times (Average 10 runs ) every week. Its taking more time (around30 Mins ) to complete , and its causing overall performance issues during this run .

Does this program is required to run these many times ?

even for single item cost update , they are running this Program .

is it normal to run this program.
